Your First Visit
Your comprehensive eye exam requires one to two hours. The thorough examination each doctor performs will not only identify if glasses are needed, but more importantly, will determine the health of your eyes by checking for diseases such as glaucoma, cataracts, corneal or retinal problems, and any other eye conditions. In addition, systemic conditions may also be detected.
Often we use eye drops in the course of your examination, which may blur your reading vision temporarily or make your eyes sensitive to sunlight. Sunglasses may be helpful. If you expect to have a problem driving after dilation, and if that is the case, you may wish to arrange for someone to drive you home.
